Episode 1: High-flying journalist Catherine Heathcote is finishing a documentary about the 1963 disappearance of schoolgirl Alison Carter when the main detective on the case, George Bennett, withdraws his cooperation. As Catherine decides to head to Scardale to save her film, the events of the original investigation are revisited.
